Quality Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a Quality Engineer to help us identify and drive quality improvement projects and philosophy through the company. This is a hands-on level position.  The successful candidate will be able to:

  • Train, educate, and promote the benefits of ISO to production personnel through the use of process and ISO audits.
  • Answer and close non-conformances generated during third party audits.
  • Develop, execute, and analyze quality reporting measures and systems.
  • Analyze data using statistical tools to identify opportunities to reduce internal scrap and quality defects.
  • Interact with customers, sales and production to ensure that quality related issues have root-cause analysis and Corrective and Preventative Action experience. 
  • Lead quality and process improvement projects using Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Perform tool and equipment calibrations, and ensure that calibration programs are accurate and up to date.
  • Understand and conduct process or equipment capability studies, measurement system analysis, DOE and other quality tools.
  • Identify technical problems and practical solutions appropriate to the size and complexity of projects
  • Direct and coordinate activities concerned with the development, procurement, installation, use, and/or calibration of control devices for test, sample, and data collection systems
  • Analyze and interpret test/sample data and provides usable technical reports of trends of potential quality issues

Qualifications

  • BS in Quality, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering is preferred but not required
  • 5+ years direct experience as a quality and/or process engineer in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in heavy manufacturing industry highly desired
  • In depth knowledge of implementing statistical and process control tools into a production environment.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing projects in an industrial environment. 
  • Six Sigma/Lean experience preferred.
  • Previous ISO audit experience and lead auditor certification desired.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures.  Experience at writing new or revised procedures.  High attention to detail, accuracy, and organization skills are necessary
  • Strong interpersonal, teambuilding, and communication skills.  Must be able to effectively present logical information in a structured fashion to different levels of the organization and customer base.

Local candidates will be given preference.  Limited relocation may be considered.

Competitive benefits and salary $60K – 68K DOE

This position is based in Ft Lupton Colorado. 

Travel 10 - 15%.
