Golden Block Caster
Golden Aluminum's Golden Block Caster is the most efficient method of producing Aluminum in the World. It uses 80% less energy than nearly all other mills worldwide dramatically reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
Continuous Casting Technology
This technology is energy efficient with greater flexibility than the standard aluminum industry sheet technology. Golden Aluminum is the only aluminum facility that uses continuous casting technology, the Golden Block Caster. This cuts our energy use in the production process, thereby reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
12 of our 14 shippers participate in the EPA's SmartWay Transport Partnership an innovative brand that represents environmentally cleaner, more fuel-efficient transportation options. The Smart Way brand identifies products and services that reduce transportation-related emissions. All of EPA SmartWay transportation programs result in significant, measurable air quality and/or greenhouse gas improvements while maintaining or improving current levels of other emissions and pollutants.
35% of all pallets that are used in our plant are recycled. Pallets unable to be reused are turned into mulch for landscaping.
Our lights are managed by motion detectors and only come on when employees are working in that room. When we leave a room, the lights go out saving 3,000 kilowatts in energy usage each year.
